The concern with which the Soviet Government is following the General Assembly s debates is reflected in Jong leading articles in the Soviet press, which all seek to persuade the soviet people that Mr Vyshinsky has won the first round,” says the diplo®t«%correspondent of “ Th e Times.” Whereas General Marshall’s speech, according to ‘Pravda,’ was ‘an almost undisguised sermon in defence of violence and domination and the imposition of the will of one set of powers,’ Mr Vyshinsky’s was a ‘profoundly principled defence of peace end friendship among the nations, filled with factual materials and irrefutable aYguments.’ “General Marshall’s speech, the paper added, had a ‘cool reception’ the Assembly, whereas Mr Vyshinsky’s was heard with ‘warm appreciation’ and ca\sed ‘acute embarrass.fv *° those who were indicted. , The voice of.the Soviet Union — th e voice of conscience and honour end of freedom-loving peoples—has once again resounded through the World!’ ’’
