80 ARRESTED IN SLOVAKIA
“Vast Plot Against State” ANNOUNCEMENT IN PRAGUE (Rec. 1.40 a.m.) PRAGUE, Sept. 15. The Czech News 'Ageftcy Announces that 80 persons have been arrested after the discovery hi Slovakia of a vast plot against the State. Those arrested include former members of the army of General Vlasov, the Russian renegade Who during the war formed a corps to fight for Germany, and a large number of Czechoslovak civil servants. The agency adds that the organisation to which the arrested persofts belonged distributed subversive pamphlets. The authorities believe that the plotters sought to form commandos for armed rebellion against. the Republic and to organise sabotage and terrorist activities and to assassinate the President (Dr. Benes) and other politicians. An official statement says that sO far as has been ascertained the plotters are mostly former members of the Hlinka Guard, who were known for their Fascist activities in the days of the so-called Slovak State.
