road Championships ALLOCATED Officeis elected at the annual meeting of the North Canterbury centre of the New Zealand Athletic. Cycling and Axe.men’s Union were as follows:—president. Mr C. J Sowden; vice-presidents, Messrs G. T. Henderson and H. G. Hubbard: handicappers (cycling) Messrs C. J. Sowden and D. Wild, (running events) Mr J R. Atkinson, (wood chopping) Mr M Doody; committee, Messrs G. Henderson. T. J. R Atkinson, and D. wild: referees’ Messrs G Henderson and C- J. Sowden; starter. Mr T. Dixon; secretary and treasurer, Mr S. G. Mallard; auditor, Mr John Ainger. The following road championships were granted:—Southbridge Athletic Club (36-mile South Island championship). September 27; Hornby Cycling Club (Timaru to-Christchurch. 100-mile N.Z. title), October 4; Christchurch to Walmate, 130mile New Zealand title, October 11.
