DISTRIBUTION OF WEALTH
Sir,—There is no need for “Waiting” to wait for the distribution- of the Church’s “wealth.” It is continually being distributed in relief of the hungry and homeless, in the upkeep of hospitals, orphanages, schools • colleges, and universities, homes for the aged, chronic invalids, the weak-’ minded, the outcast, and all the needy. As for “Steakatheoyst’s’’ sneer, the Pope was not saying anything new. He was reminding us once more of the Church’s consistent teaching all down the centuries.—Yours, etc., „ . G. F. SEWARD. September 12, 1947.
Sir.—As “Waiting” means to watch with interest to see if the Pope will “set the ball rolling,” by which presumably, he means distributing the wealth of the Church, he will not mind distributing to readers of “The Press” the information he possesses of the wealth of the Church.—Yours, etc., WATCHING WITH INTEREST, i September 14. 1947. i
