ACCIDENTS
MAN KILLED AT WAIPARA EXPLOSION OF LOG GUN Apparently killed by the explosion of a log gun with which he had been working. Francis Isaac Milligan, employed on Mr D. K. Ower’s farm at Waipara. was found dead at 11 o’clock yesterday morning. Mr Milligan, who was 69 years, and a single man, had been splitting logs. An inquest will be opened this morning before the Coroner, Mr Raymond Ferner. CYCLIST INJURED Knocked off his bicycle on the corner of Moorhouse avenue and Montreal street last evening in a collision with a motor-car, William Gray, aged 52 years, of 29 Therese street, Sydenham, suffered concussion He was admitted to the Christchurch Public Hospital at 8.20 p.m., and his condition was later reported to be satisfactory.
