STERLING RATE FALLS IN PORTUGAL
(Rec. 9 p.m.) LISBON. August M. British sterling bills, which lately fetched 78 escudos on the free market, have dropped 20 per cent, because of the temporary ban on convertibility. Pakistan Admitted to F.A.O.— The Food and Agriculture Organisation has unanimously admitted Pakistan to membership.—-Geneva, August 27.
