OTHER EXCHANGES SYDNEY The contraction in business on the Stock Exchange yesterday reflected hesitancy on the part of investors, pending the clarification of the Commonwealth Government plans to assist Britain In the economic crisis. Leading industrial shares were steady, but some weaknesses developed. Bank shares tended to slacken. An undisclosed number of Union Bank and E., S., and A. shares were taken, off London delivery, at £ll 3s and £6 17s 6d respectively.
