PROMOTIONS AND TRANSFERS OF RAILWAY OFFICERS

The appointment of Mr W. A. Breach, at present stationmaster at Feilding. to the position of District Traffic Manager at Christchurch has been announced by the Railway Department. Mr M. H. Grigg, of Wellington. who has been acting-District Traffic Manager since the retirement of Mr F. S. Gray some months ago, will be relieved by Mr Breach shortly. Other promotions and transfers affecting officers in the Canterbury district are as follows:—Mr M. McKone, stationmaster, Addington, to stationmaster, Marton; Mr G. M. Sheldon, outwards goods clerk, Christchurch, to stationmaster, Addington; Mr J. E. Calcutt, delivery clerk, to senior goods clerk, Christchurch goods; Mr A. W. Yates, stationmaster, Kaiapoi, to delivery clerk, Christchurch goods; Mr W. C. Tritt, senior goods clerk, Invercargill, to stationmaster, Blenheim; Mr W. F. Owen, goods clerk, Ashburton, to outwards goods clerk. Christchurch goods; Mr R. P. Ryan, shift booking clerk. Palmerston North, to goods clerk, Ashburton; Mr L. O’Malley, stationmaster, Papanui, to stationmaster, Rakaia; Mr J. A. Torrance, train running officer, Christchurch, to train running officer. Greymouth; Mr J. Hamilton, guard, Christchurch, to traffic foreman. Christchurch.
