COMPROMISE APPROVED
AGREEMENT TO PAY £3400 Approval of the Court of a compromise between the Public Trustee and New Zealand Insulators, Ltd., was sought in the Supreme Court yesterday. Mr B. A. Barrer, for the Public Trustee, said the claim was a result of an accident at the defendant’s works at Temuka on April 11, 1946, when William Jack Higginbottom was caught in moving shafting and killed. He left a widow and four young children. The defendant had agreed to pay into Court the sum of £3400. Mr C. S. Thomas appeared for the defendant company. Mr Justice Fleming made an order approving the compromise, the defendant to pay costs, £5 ss, and disbursements as fixed by the Registrar.
