MORE ARRESTS IN BURMA
(Rec. 7 p.m.) RANGOON, July 24. Two other prominent leaders of the Myochit Party, U Ba Yin. a former Minister of Education, and U Aung Tha, a former vice-president of the party, are reported to have been arrested.
The Burmese authorities report having recovered from secret dumps in Rangoon more than half the firearms and ammunition which was missing from a military ordnance depot four days before the assassinations of members of the Executive Council. The three gunmen who are believed to have killed the Burmese Ministers and officials on Saturday have been arrested. A fourth, who was shot dead while escaping, has been identified as a former officer of the war-time antiJapanese resistance force. Fifty persons are now in gaol in connexion with the assassinations. The Executive Council Chamber, in which the assassinations occurred, will be converted into a national museum. Pictures of the dead Ministers will be hung in the rooms and a monument to the Ministers will be erected in front of the Constituent Assembly building.
