BOXER’S LICENCE REVOKED
MURPHY’S FIGHTS WITH WILLIE JONES (PA) WELLINGTON. July 25. Bos Murphy’s professional boxer’s licence will be revoked as from July 21, according to a decision of the council of the New Zealand Boxing Association. The council issued the following statement to-day: “On Wednesday evening, July 16, the council of the New Zealand Boxing Association held an inquiry into matters arising out of contests held at Petone between Bos Murphy and Willie Jones on January 25 last and February 22 last, and it then adjourned to Monday evening, July 21, to consider its decision. The council arrived at its decision in respect of Bos Murphy, and decided that his professional boxer’s licence be revoked as from that date.”
