POWER RESTRICTIONS LIFTED With the reduction by the State Hydroelectric Department of the saving of electric power to 10 per cent., the Lyttelton Borough Council has removed all restrictions on the use of power in Lyttelton, except for advertising. Street and block llg 4?u ing were restored last night. The council requested consumers to exercise economy so that further restrictions would not be necessary. Upham Clock Fund Collectors for the Dr. C. H. Upham town clock began their canvass of the Wednesday, and it is expected that the collecting will be completed by next Wednesday. A total of £lBO has been collected in the business block. Donations received from outside Lyttelton include a cheque for £5 5s from Dr. Mark Brown, of Christchurch, who wrote: Please accept the enclosed cheque for the Upham town clock fund. I am glad to do this for at least two reasons. One, in memory of the old town clock from which I learned to tell the time. Second, to honour Dr. Upham „ w^om have learned very much Port Lyttelton Parcels Ten former Lyttelton residents, now living at Timaru. have forwarded through Mr A. Douglas Stewart. £2 15s to the Deputy-Mayor (Mr F. H. Heal) to be used for the purchase of parcels for the motor-ship Port Lyttelton parcels’ scheme.
