IMPORTS OF NEW MOTORCARS

PRIORITY FOR TAXI OPERATORS DESIRED (P.A.) WELLINGTON. July 18. The New Zealand Taxi Proprietors’ Federation, at a meeting in Wellington, decided to press the Government for special import licences for new cars, and to recommend that until the supply position improved priority in the supply of new cars should be granted to essential users such as taxi operators, doctors, and others. The difficulty in maintaining old cars now in use was emphasised during the discussion.
