MISS HOWARD’S ROOMS
NEW MINISTER GIVES FEMININE TOUCH
BRIGHT CURTAINS AND FRESH FLOWERS
(From Our Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, July 3. The feminine influence has soon made itself felt in the rooms of the Minister of Health, formerly occupied by Mr A. H. Nordmeyer and now the preserve of Miss Mabel Howard. Inside the drab curtaining on the front windows Miss Howard has fitted gay floral curtaining. Cushions and antimacassars for the big couch and chairs in the room have made a big difference to its appearance. Miss Howard has fresh flowers every day, and the result of her tenancy is already noticeable. Considerable interest is being taken in Parliament Buildings in a plan now being carried out to provide a special room for Mrs Nash, wife of the Minister of Finance, to entertain guests. This room will be fairly close to Mr Nash’s rooms.
Another big refurnishing job has been done on Mr Speaker’s residential flat in the building Attention has been attracted, too, by a new desk in the office of the Post-master-General (Mr F. Hackett).
