BECKENHAM CLUB Officers elected at the annual meeting of the Beckenham Bowling Club were as follows:—patron, Mr C. Boon: president, Mr W. Craig; vice-president, Mr E. Barton; secretary, Mr S. Lorking; assistant secretary, Mr T. Ford; treasurer, Mr E. Bromley; delegate to the Christchurch Bowling Centre, Mr H. Taylor; general committee, Messrs J. Annand, J. McCormick and J. Stapleton: selector, Mr T. Watts; match committee, Messrs J. Annand, F. J. Dann, and C. J. Forbes; publicity officer, Mr E. Barton; coaches, Messrs T. Watts, J. Annand, and J. Stapleton; green superintendent, Mr T. Watts. Winners of the competitions last season were as follows:—champion singles, J. W. McWhirter; champion pairs, F. Haworth and J. Lyell (skip); champion fours, F. Bearne, R. Ogier, E. N. Bromley, and A. Carroll (skip); colts’ championship, J. Gibson; Chegwin championship, W. Stephenson. D. Hanna, H. Summerton, and J. Morrison (skip); president’s rinks, J. Archibald. W. Calvert. A. Woodsford. and T. H. Watts (skip); handicap singles, J. Gibson; handicap pairs, R. Knight and K. Little (skip). elmwood’ club When it was reported at the annual meeting of the Elmwood Bowling Club that the club would have a new green next season, it was decided to extend the membership from 90 to 140.
