ROYAL NAVY’S WAR LOSSES

(Rec. 7 p.m.) LONDON. July 2. It was disclosed in the House of Commons that the Royal Navy lost 1503 vessels of 959.757 tons standard displacement. Mines sank 281 vessels, enemy aircraft 271, submarines sank 172;. surface craft 109. and shore batteries four. Five were rairimed and 116 were lost in.action from unknown causes. Of the remaining 545 vessels, 114 were wrecked, 89 were used as block ships, 85 were lost in collisions, 38 by accidents, 37 by fire, 28 were “sunk by our forces,” and 154 were lost through unknown causes.
