NOTICE OF INTENTION TO MAKE PUBLIC NOTICE IS' HEREBY GIVEN that the Malvern Electric Power Board proposes at its meeting to be held at the Board’s Offices, Darfield, on Friday, the 18th day of July, 1947, at the hour of 2 o’clock in thd afternoon, to make a Rate of seven thirty-seconds of a penny in the pound (7-32 d in £1) on all rateable property in the Board’s district, pursuant to Section 56 of the Electric Power Boards Act, 1925, and that such Rate shall be payable in one sum on the due and payable dates fixed by the Malvern, Selwyn, and Tawera County Councils for payment' of general county rates within such respective constituent districts. Such Rate is for the period of one year, commencing on the Ist day of April, 1947, and ending on the 31st day of March, 1948. NOTICE OF LOCAL BILL. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that it is the intention of the Christchurch City Council at the request of Canterbury University College to introduce in the Session of Parliament commencing on or about the 24th DAY OF JUNE, 1947, a Local Bill providing for the setting up of a Board of Trustees to be called “The Canterbury Museum Trust Board” to control the Canterbury Museum as from April Ist, 1948, and making provision for the Finances and Administration of the Board. The objects which the Board is intended to effect are:— (a) To set up as a body corporate the Canterbury Museum Trust Board to consist of persons appointed by or representing the Christchurch City Council, other Canterbury local bodies, the Canterbury University College Council and certain voluntary bodies, and the Director of the Museum. (b) To provide for the election of representatives of local bodies. (c) To provide for the appointment, election and resignation of members of the Board. (d) To provide for the appointment of a Chairman and for the proceedings of the Board. (e) To vest in the Canterbury Museum Trust Board the assets of the Canterbury Museum as appearing in the accounts of Canterbury University College as at March 31st, 1948. (f) To provide for the taking over by the Canterbury Museum Trust Board vV?. e obligations, engagements, and liabilities of Canterbury College in , v respect of the Museum. (g) To provide that all the functions. Sowers, and authorities of Canterury University College in relation to tne Museum shall be vested in the Board.
