VISIT OF BOYD NEEL ORCHESTRA
CONCERTS TO BE GIVEN IN CHRISTCHURCH
The Boyd Neel orchestra, under the leadership of Mr Frederick Grinke, will give two concerts in Christchurch on July 12 and July 14. The reputation of this famous group of British players has preceded it by gramophone recordings. Twenty minutes after t£e end of the concert in the Auckland Town Hall, the audience was still applauding. Mr Boyd Neel conducts, without score, 18 comparatively young players, who produce music so balanced that it might be imagined to come from a single instrument. During its tour this orchestra has used air transport. On the completion of its Australian season it flew from Sydney to Auckland, and to-morrow will fly to Wellington.
