Morris, Hedstrom Prospects.—Prospects of Morris Hedstrom. Ltd., for the current year were good, because it was expected that prosperous conditions in Fiji would again have a beneficial effect on the company’s trading results, said the chairman. Sir Maynard Hedstrom, at the annual meeting in Suva. One reason for the past year’s favourable business conditions was the increased production and higher price of copra. Prices paid to producers by the Fiji Government, acting for the British Government, rose*from £lB a ton in January. 1946, to £29 10s in May, 1947. The prices might be further increased The company’s income from sources other than direct merchandise trading had increased in recent years.
