It is only switched on when actually in use and cannot be left on because of ;the whistle. -• 2. It heats rapidly because of its patented construction and special features. 3. It is heavily lagged to retain the heat and therefore heat losses which mean waste of power are kept down to an absolute minimum. In the interests erf national economy of power you should during the restrictions use your Zip as little as possible. You should ndt switch it on at all between 4 and 6 p.m. Heat it earlier in the day and you will be able to draw hot water from it between those hours without using any power. If you have one of the larger kitchen Models connected to the bath do not use it for baths during the day. Confine its use to a gallon or two for the kitchen. (Bathroom and Household Models should be switched right off during the day.) If you have an all-electric home and cannot boil a kettle on an open fire use your Zip for tea-making, washing dishes, hot water bags, etc., in preference to an electric kettle or jug because it is definitely much more economical on power.
