WORLD AFFAIRS
Sir, —I regret “Timothy’’ has misread my letter, and himself overlooked the second part of the commandment, “and thy neighbour as thyself,” which I certainly included. If, also, he had read correctly the other passa'ge of the Bible that 1 quoted, he would have seen that Russia is to be the aggressor, and that God will deliver us, as He has delivered us in recent wars; as without His aid we could not possibly have withstood the terrible punishments inflicted upon us. “Timothy” has, alas, let his imagination run away with him when he thinks that I wish to prepare people to accept war, as I wish to prepare them to accept God, and love Him and keep all His commandments, and praise His wonderful name. It will not be a “glorious” but a “terrible” war, from which He will again deliver us, according to His wonderful promise.—Yours, etc., BIBLE STUDENT. June 9, 1947.
