Air Record Broken.— A Lancaster broke the record for a non-stop flight from Bermuda to London in the second of the series of flight-refuelling tests which the Ministry of Civil Aviation is conducting. The aircraft flew the 3355 miles in 13hr 36min, as against the previous time of 15|hr on the first refuelling flight. The refuelling aeroplane, using radar, met the Lancaster, 400 miles north of the Azores.—London, June 9. Kent Tennis Tourney.— Eighteen overseas players. Including New Zealanders and Australians, are competing in the Kent lawn tennis championships at Beckenham. In the first round of the men’s singles, J. A. Barry (New Zealand) beat B.
