CANTERBURY COLLEGE ELECTION
TWO REPRESENTATIVES OF GRADUATES Mr A. E. Flow’er was re-elected and Mr D. W. Bain will succeed Mr J. H. E. Schroder (who did not seek reelection) on the Canterbury University College Council as a result of the election for two representatives ol the Court of Convocation (graduates). Although voting closed a week ago papers were not opened until yesteroay (as provided by statute), so that graduates in distant parts could have their votes included. About 900 of the 1900 voting papers distributed were returned. Voting was es follows:—D. W. Bain, 573; A. E. Flower, 553; C. W. Hamann. 346; J. R. Templin, 307. Several other seats on the council fell vacant through members’ terms expiring this year; but the two held for the Court of Convocation by Mr Flower and Mr SclT/oder were the only ones for which there- wa« a contest •
