TUSCAN STAR ARRIVES (P.A.) AUCKLAND, June 9. Making her first voyage under the ownership of the Blue Star Line, the Tuscan Star arrived at Auckland from South Africa, via Melbourne, to-day. Built in 1945 for the Ministry of War Transport, the Tuscan Star was formerly the Empire Clarendon and was managed by the P. and O. Line. She was taken over by the Blue Star Line in Britain in January. The Tuscan Star is a sister ship to the New Zealand Shipping Company’s Rakaia, formerly the Empire Abercorn. She is commanded by Captain C. Goudie. The Tuscan Star is a motor-ship and has accommodation for 96 passengers.
