ALL BLACKS MAY PLAY AUCKLAND

MID-WEEK MATCH SUGGESTED (PA..) WELLINGTON, June 9. Provided the players are agreeable, the All Blacks will play a mid-week game against Auckland on their return to New Zeeland This, was decided at to-days meeting of the management committee of the New Zealand Rugby Union, after an application by the Auckland union for a match. It was decided to ascertain frora

Mr H. S. Strang the wishes of the players in the matter. After receipt of advice of preparations being made in Fiji for the proposed tour by a Maori team, the chairman (Mr S. S. Dean) said it would be advisable to notify Fiji of the difficulties about shipping, which made the tour very doubtful. Any postponement was a matter for the council of the union, but early advice of the difficulties over shipping should be conveyed to Fiji in view of the preparations being made. Mr Dean said the Maoris were opposed to making the tour by plane. It had been agreed that in the event of the tour being off, a tour within New Zealand would be arranged for the Maoris.
