WINTER TOURNAMENT CONTINUED Under good playing conditions, the winter tennis competition was continued at Wilding Park on Saturday. Results were: A Grade South Brighton II v. Canterbury College. —Singles: A. R. Cant beat J. D. Snell. 6-4, 11-9; G. E. Atkinson beat E. R. Ireland. 6-1, 6-0; N. Brydges-Jones beat D. C. Hughes, 6-0, 6-0; R. L. Robinson lost to P. K. Foster. 3-6, 2-6. Doubles; Cant and Atkinson beat Snell and Ireland, 6-3. 6-1; Brydges-Jones and Robinson beat Hughes and Foster, 6-3, 6-3. South Brighton won by 5 rubbers to 1 South Brighton I v. Avonside.—Singles: R. A. H. Howe beat M. Chapple, 6-1, 6-2-A. Goddard beat V. W. Hammond. 6-4, 6-4; L. Gazzard beat F. Hogan, 6-1, 1-6, 6-3; S. Hale beat L. Rothel, 6-1, 9-7. Doubles: Howe and Goddard beat Hammond and Chapple, 8-6. 6-4; Gazzard and Hale beat Hogan and Rothell. 6-2. 6-1. South Brighton won by 6 rubbers to 0. Elmwood I v. Woolston.—Singles: E. J.
