GRAIN AND TIMBER FROM RUSSIA
LONDON, May 9. British officials in Moscow have expressed optimism about Britain’s chances of obtaining grain and timber from Russia, says the Associated Press correspondent in Moscow. However, they said that before Britain could get timber, Russia expected Britain to produce a new type of timber-cutting machinery for sale to Russia. Little hope was held of getting Russian tobacco, officials pointing out that Russian tobacco costs twice as much as American.
