SHOPS FIRED BY TERRORISTS

INCENDIARY BOMBS USED

JERUSALEM, May 8. Terrorists to-day set fire to and extensively damaged with incendiary bombs three textile shops in Tel Aviv. An official statement says that four armed Jews entered each shop, ordered the proprietor to leave, ana detonated a bomb.

Private sources said that the attacks were probably in retaliation for failure to pay the Stem Gang “levy.” Earlier the Public Information building in Tel Aviv was evacuated after a telephone warning that;the building had been mined. No mines, were found.

The Jerusalem District Court to-day sentenced two young Jews to two days’ imprisonment for issuing unauthorised leaflets calling on the community to “rise against the terrorists.” It is illegal to distribute any unauthorised leaflets, regardless of the contents.
