ESTATE OF F. R. WILKINS
DECISION OF MEETING • OF CREDITORS (P.A.) WELLINGTON, May 8. A meeting of creditors in the estate of Francis Roy Wilkins, aged 47. a garage proprietor, who was murdered and robbed at Wellington on April 21, was held to-day before the Official Assignee (Mr F. B. Jameson). Wilkins had filed his petition ta bankruptcy 17 years ago, with a deficiency of The meeting was to determine the creditors’ attitude towards the bankrupt’s property, acquired after his bankruptcy, in which the creditors had precedence over unsecured creditors. Il was explained to the meeting that it appeared that had Wilkins applied for hiß discharge there Would have been no reason to refuse it However, a* he had not done so, creditors were entitled to settlement of their claims, plus 6 per cent, interest for 17 years, which would approximately double the original amounts owing. There-appeared to be sufficient funds to meet this. It was resolved that, assuming all creditors could be bound by the resolution, the creditors waive their right to interest on the debts, and accept a compound of 10s in the £ on the proved debts in full satisfaction of the proved debts and interest. This resolution will come before the later special meeting of creditors ta the form of a notice of motion.
