STRATHEONA

ANNUAL MEETING OF BOARD

The principal officers of the Board of Managers of the Strathebna Home Training Hostel were re-elected at the ninth annual meeting of the board held recently in Timaru. The annual report stated that five new trainees had been admitted during the year,, four had nearly completed their two years’ work in country homes, and excellent reports had been received of four older girls who had continued doing domestic work after their two years’ work had been completed. Paying guests had again been accepted during the year and many schoolchildren had been provided with dinners. At the end of last year a milking machine had been installed by the trustees. The board expressed its thanks to all who had helped the hostel by gifts or work during the year. One person, it was stated, had recently made a gift of 106 bales of hay.
