N.S.W. ELECTION

PRIMARY VOTES CHECKED AND RECOUNTED (Rec. 7 p.m.) SYDNEY, May 6. The probable state of the parties in the new Legislative Assembly showed no perceptible change after a check and recount of the primary votes. When the count was concluded the combined official Labour and Lang Labour forces still appeared to have an absolute majority of 15 seats over the combined Opposition parties, with five seats still in doubt The doubtful seats are Auburn and Newtown, which will go to either official or Lang Labour, and Berwon, Namoi, and Ashburnham. where there is a keen struggle between the sitting Labour members and Country Party opponents. Postal votes have still to be counted and preferences allotted.
