The stock penned at the special cattle sale held at Temuka to-day on account of the Mount Peel and Orari Gorge stations was in excellent conditions, and attracted spirited bidding from local and outside buyers. Consequently high prices were realised. There was a large attendance of buyers. Following is the range of prices:—Steer calves, £7 15s to £9: heifer calves, £5 to £6 ss; 18-months-old heifers, £9 to £11; fat steers, £l5 to £l9 15s; fat heifers, to £l7; fat cows, to £l6 ss.
