LORD BLEDISLOE SAILS
FAREWELL MESSAGE TO NEW ZEALAND
(P.A.) NAPIER, April 16. “As my wife and I will be embarking to-day on the Rimutaka on our return voyage to England, we take this opportunity of expressing our most sincere thanks to the Government and people and all sections of the community in New Zealand for the generous hospitality and kindness accorded us in every part of the Dominion that we have found time to visit since we landed here a month ago on our goodwill mission to its farming community,” said Viscount Bledisloe in a farewell message to New Zealand in an interview in Napier this morning. “Our only regret is that we unavoidably left so many areas unvisited, especially in the South Island. “People seem somewhat obsessed with their post-war social, economic, and religious problems,’’ added Lord Bledisloe, “but so they are in a far greater degree in Great Britain, on the Continent of Europe, and in Australia. “I have been deeply impressed and greatly heartened by the enthusiastic response that farmers throughout the Dominion have made to my appeals to raise more food to help meet Britain s crying need during the next two years,’’ he added. “We once more leave New Zealand with expression® of fond farewell to its warm-heartea people of all classes and of botn races.
