TOWED INTO HAIFA

ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT SHIP NAVAL BOARDING PARTY RESISTED (Rec. 10.30 p.m.) HAIFA. April 15. A British destroyer towed the Jewish illegal immigrant ship Theodor Herzl into Haifa harbour to-day. A battle by moonlight between British sailors and immigrants raged for three hours aboard the Theodor Herzl last night. The immigrants bombarded the boarding party with bottles and tin cans and hand-to-hand fighting followed. The sailors were forced to use tear gas and small arms.
