EASTER TOURNAMENT CONTINUED

EXCELLENT CONDITIONS Only two fours remained unbeaten by the end of the fifth round of play in the Christchurch Bowling Centre’s Easter tournament, which was continued on Saturday. They were skipped by G. Macdonald (Elmwood) and A. Steele (Beckenham). Three rounds were played during the day, and by the end of the sixth, Steele remained the only unbeaten skip. Macdonald’s four going down 19-10 to E. J. Ritchie (Linwood) in the last section. Five wins each were gained by A. A. Austin (United), R E. McNish (Canterbury). A. Wotton (Belfast), K. R. Smith (Edgeware), C. Madsen (Opawa), A. Besley (Sydenham), and F. W. Allan (Elmwood), by the end of the day’s play. The weather was excellent, there being no wind. The greens, which were a little heavy in the morning, did not take long to dry out in the bright sunshine, and gained pace. , . t Results were as follows, skips names only being given:—
