JUMP FROM SHIP TO WHARF
WAIANA DELAYED BY CREW SHORTAGE
(PA.) AUCKLAND, March 15. A member of the engineroom staff of the Union Steam Ship Company’s vessel Waiana jumped from the ship on to the wharf when the vessel was about to leave for southern ports last evening. The ship’s sailing was postponed pending a replacement. Another of the company’s vessels, the Kaimanawa. which was to have sailed for Lyttelton to-day. is being held here awaiting the replacement of five members of the engineroom staff.
