CHEVIOT TROTTING CLUB

Sir, —The thanks of all patrons of the light harness sport are due to the officials and staff of the Cheviot Trotting Club for the excellent programme they provided at Rangiora. It was, indeed, a tribute to their efficiency when the totalisator closed a minute after the advertised time for the last race. Surely this must have been appreciated by the public, owners, and trainers alike. The writer noticed officials from other metropolitan and country clubs present and trusts that they received some benefit from an excellent object lesson from a junior club, whose greatest asset is the enthusiasm and efficiency, of its officials. Many thanks to the president, committee, and staff. They are assured of even greater success next year.—Yours, etc.. SATISFIED PATRON. March 15, 1947.
