Second Win Doreano recorded his second success for the season when, capably handled by G. Thurlow, he took the lead with just over five, furlongs to go in the second division of the Domett Handicap at Rangiora on Saturday, and carried on to win by half a length from Pat Review. Trained at Tinwald by R. Townley, Doreano is an aged gelding by Quite Sure from Princess Joffre, which is by Author D" l ®’} from Lady Joffre. The three-year-old gelding. Bashaw, which is Townley’s candidate for the New Zealand Trotting Stakes, did not impress by his efforts at the Cheviot Trotting Club s meeting. Disappointed A good track worker, Mamanuas has k disappointed in his races since being trained at Auckland by I. R. Morrison, and he has now been returned to nis owner. Mr H. Stafford, who educated ana trained this son of Quite Sure and Mersa Matruh for his early successes.
