TROPICAL STORM

CENTRE NEAR NORFOLK ISLAND SOUTH ISLAND MAY BE AFFECTED TO-MORROW. ' (P.A.) WELLINGTON, March 14. k A tropical storm was centred about 100 miles west of Norfolk Island, moving southward at 6 p.m. to-day. By 6 o’clock to-morrow, according to the Weather Office, the storm is expected to be centred about 300 to 400 miles west of the Auckland peninsula. After that its movements are uncertain, but it appears likely that the storm will curve in a south-easterly direction and cross the South Island during Sunday night.
