LEAVE FACILITIES FOR J FORCE
(P.A.) WELLINGTON. March 14. “The recent announcement .concerning the difficulties in granting home leave from Japan to men re-enlisting in Japan for a further term with J Force, appears to have caused some misunderstanding.” states Army Headquarters
“The announcement made by the Minister of Defence (Mr F. Jones) concerned the granting of New Zealand leave to personnel in Japan who enlist for a further term New Zealand leave from Japan cannot be granted at present because of the shortage of sea transport. Leave in Japan for J Force remains on the same scale as previously, and has in no way been curtailed, in fact with an increasing number of leave centres being made available to New Zealand troops. J Force is now able to enjoy leave facilities over a much wider area than was nreviously the case.”
