REMAND GRANTED Clifford James Cairns, a labourer, aged W years, appeared before Messrs W. T. Lester and W. C. Cleary. Justices of the Pea “> at the Lyttelton Magistrate’s Court, on charged with having indecently assaulted a girl aged six years. On tne application of the police he was remanded to appear at Lyttelton on Wednesday. Swimming Two events were held by the Lyttelton Amateur Swimming Club at Corsair Bay on Saturday afternoon. Results were:— 300 yards novelty event, for Mr J. 7 R- Duff (scr) 1, B. Norton (lOsec) 2, H. Hardwicke (15sec) 3. Diye handicap: R. Duff (scr), 23 points, L R - Stanley (3pts), 17Jpts, 2; J. Finnerty (4), 17pts) 3.
