BERNBOROUGH’S STOCK
POSSIBLE COLT IN QUEENSLAND
(Rec. 7 p.m.) SYDNEY March 7. “The only evidence the Queensland farmer, Mr Jack Bach, can produce that his colt, Mr Bernie, is the son of Bernborough, is an the. mating date m his father s diary, and the likeness of the colt itself,” says Hugh Dash in the “Daily Telegraph,” which to-day publishes a front page of comparative pictures. Dash says that the Queensland Turf Club will not permit any horses owned by Mr Bach to race, and that if the ban is not lifted the colt will be submitted for public auction in Sydney with a reserve price of about £3OQO. Mr Bach's trump card is the resemblance of the colt to Bernborough. He is a bay, rising three years, and is beautifully proportioned without a -bad point. His head is almost a replica of Bernborough’s except for the ears, which are closer’set. •
