MISSING CHINESE AIRCRAFT
REPORT OF DISCOVERY INCORRECT
SHANGHAI, January 28. A report that wreckage had been found of the Chinese National Aviation Corporation’s Dakota transport, which disappeared on a flight from Canton to Chungking, is erroneous. The aeroplane last radioed its position about 15 minutes’ flying time from Chungking on January 25. A search over the rugged Szechwan Province to-day proved fruitless.
Australian Tennis Championships.— The title holders, J. Bromwich and A. Quist, had little difficulty in beating the youngsters, G. Worthington and Sedgman, in the Australian doubles final at White City this afternoon. The match lasted barely 40 minutes. Quist was the spearhead of the winning combination. The result was: 6-1, 6-3, 6-I.—Sydney, January 28.
