POLAND’S DESTRUCTION
Sir, —I certainly detest Communism, a system of ideas inspired by the devil, to destroy religion and all human freedom. As to Communists. I am sorrv for them and pray that they may come to a better mind. If the Poles were foolish enough to choose Communism I would not have any other nation prevent their trying it," just as I object to outside interference in Spain. The trouble is. the Poles are not free to choose anything. The Spaniards have a far better chance of setting rid of Franco’s Government, if they want to. than the Poles have of dislodging the Government presented to them by Russia. “A.T.C.” keeps worrying about that secret “something” behind my letters. Well, I will let him into the secret. In these letters. by a secret code. I communicate with my confederates in a plot to convert all Communists into pious Catholics.—Yours, etc.. G. F. SEWARD. January 25, 1947.
