British Soldier Hanred.—Driver F. J. Upson, a member of the Royal Army Service Corps in Germany, has been hanged for the murder of a 60-yeet-old German woman in the French sector, says Reuter’s correspondent. His Majesty rejected a petition for clemency. Upson was the first British soldier to be executed overseas since the end of the war.—London, Jan. 22.
