FORBURY PARK CLUB

TROTTING

TO-MORROW’S PROSPECTS

Dundee Sandy’s effort to win the Flying Handicap in the record time of 2min 54 l-ssec was one of the best performances of the day at the Forbury Park Trotting Club’s meeting on Saturday, and he has come into favour for the Metropolitan Handicap, the main event on the programme for the concluding day of the meeting, which will be held to-morrow. Dundee Sandy has won £4885 in stakes since he began racing. His record includes a win and four second placings in his last seven starts. V. Alborn has the Grattan Loyal gelding right at the top of his form.

Nyallo Scott, the winner of the Dunedin Cup, was withdrawn from the Metropolitan Handicap; but the field of 11 pacers includes some smart horses, and the race should be full of interest. Dunmore, Fancy Goods, Liberty Bond, and Scotch Music will start from the scratch mark, and, of these, ‘Dunmore and Scotch Music appear to have the best prospects. Spotch Music finished in third place to Nyallo Scott and Cameronian in the cup last week, while Dunmore finished in fourth place after having bad luck in the running. Elation and Jack’s Son, which will start from the 12 yards mark, appear to be safely held by the 24-yard markers, which include Acropolis, Dundee Sandy, and Parrish Lad. Acropolis lost about 60 yards when he was slow away in the cup, and then finished close behind the placegetters. The Dillon Hall gelding is back to his best form, and he may spring a surprise to-morrow. The back-markers, Trusty Scott and Cameronian, are both high-class pacers and, in what should be a thrilling race, they may fight out the finish with Dundee Sandy and Dunmore.

Although the fields are smaller than on the first day, they contain all the material necessary to provide interesting racing, and patrons should enjoy another Tood day’s sport. Horses in form include:— 11 a.m.—Waverley Handicap: Bonny Scott, Port Bowen, Loyal Flier. 11.45 a.m.—Stewards’ Handicap: Indigo, Peter’s Pal, Special Effort. 12.30 p.m.—Telegraph Handicap: Stirling Castle, Loyal Nelson. Horatio Nelson. 1.20 p.m.—Metropolitan Handicap: Dundee Sandy, Cameronian. Dunmore.. 2.5 p.m.—Crescent Handicap: Golden Amazon, Kildonnin, Castigate. 2.50 p.m.—Gore Memorial Handicap: Sahara Queen, Maori Home, Blaze Away. 3.35 p.m.—Royal Handicap: Mandrake, Bien Sur, Copper Trail. 4.25 p.m.—Au Revoir Handicap: Dundee Sandy, Sea Born, Trusty Scott.
