CRITICISM OF CHURCHILL
“TRYING TO KINDLE NEW WAR” LONDON. January 22. The correspondent of the Associated Press in Moscow says that Mr Alexandrov, head of the Communist Party’s propaganda administration, told a gathering in Moscow held in commemoration of the anniversary of Lenin s -death: “Mr Churchill and his friends in Britain and America are trying to kindle a new war. Although this will not be easily accomplished, 'constant vigilance should be exercised.” Mr Stalin and Mr Molotov attended the meeting. The Moscow radio alleged that British and American plans to establish a federation of German states were directly linked with plans for Russia’s isolation. One commentator criticised the merger of the British and American zones as blocking the road to’ Germany’s political unification.
