CIVIL AVIATION CONFERENCE
DELEGATES FROM NEW ZEALAND ANNOUNCEMENT MADE BY SfIINJSTRR (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Januqry 19. The Minister in Charge qf Givil Aviation (Mr F. Jones) announced today the New Zealand representatives who have been selected to attend a conference on civil aviation to be held at Melbourne in January apfl Rpbruary. ' The first meetings, whjph begin on Japuary 28, will fee pf a technical nature anfl concern the pfovisjon and operation of mPteprolpgicgL communications, and aerodrome facilities in British territory in the south Pacific arpa. New Zealand representatives at these sessions will be as follows: Meteorological committee: Wing Commander M. A. F. Barnett (Director of Meteprplogical Services) and Mr J. F. qafeites (aviation meteorologist). Cpmmittee for air navigation and grpund organisation: Wing Commander L. F. P. Taylor (Director of Flying Control), Flight Lieutenant D. F. Jepkins (communications officer), Mr E. C. Smith (technical assistant to the Controller of Civil Aviation). The second conference, which will open on February 4, also at Melbourne, discusses the |e chn ical aspects of the establishment anfl operation of airway facilities in the area of the Pacific south of th® lin ® San Francisco to Hawaii and Hong Kong.
