CHINA’S CIVIL WAR
. Sir,- —H. J> Buttle, in. his deliberations to camouflage the issues involved dismisses as “regrettable” the most abominable atrocities committable. To him, newspapermen are infallible; and he makes a fantastic fairy-tale out of the intended lawful expulsion of an undesirable, perverted person from the governing body of a country. Communism has a few good, honest points; but these only make it more dangerous, for a half-truth is like a halfbrick—you can throw it further. Winston Churchill* says: “Communism is not a creed. It is a plan of campaign. A Communist is not only the holder of certain opinions; he is the pledged adept of a well-thought-out means of enforcing them.” Smother Yenan’s conspiracies to-day; to-morrow’s price will be dearer.—Yours, etc., YENCOW. January 16, 1947.
