SEA CADETS IN TRAINING.—More than 100 members of the New Zealand Navy League Sea Cadets Corps are in camp on Quail Island, in Lyttelton harbour, where they are undergoing a comprehensive training course. The course is an annual event and is for cadets who have been chosen to represent their units on a basis of efficiency and attendance at weekly parades. These photographs, taken at Quail Island yesterday, give an insight into the training syllabus. TOP LEFT: A squad on parade. TOP RIGHT: Instruction in signalling, an ever-popular exercise with the boys. MIDDLE: A turn at the oars. BOTTOM LEFT: Learning to tie knots the Navy’s way. BOTTOM RIGHT: Musketry instruction.
